A great adventure to save a family, to save friends…to realize that you don’t have to fight alone. It was lovely to be back in Blight Harbor and the Dark Sun Side! It was great to see The Clackity again for a moment and meet new friends. PENNIES By @lorasenf.bsky.social
ARC #review: Unnamed Bones by Lora Senf -> offbeat-ya.blogspot.com/2026/07/lora... Pros: Puts a refreshing, poignant spin on the stranded-cast-facing-a-nightmare premise. Explores themes of mental health, grief, inner strength and human connection. Doesn't waste time with unnecessary romance.

NEW EPISODE! @lorasenf.bsky.social joins me for convo about Unnamed Bones. We chat about writing for various ages, leaning into horror, the miracle of writing, & more. Unnamed Bones is a standout read, & I implore you to pick up a copy! On shelves today, links to listen to our episode:
UNNAMED BONES is out today. I'm really proud of this one and have my fingers crossed it will find its readers. This is my sixth book which feels both like so many and not enough - I came to writing late and I always feel a bit like I'm making up for lost time. 🖤
This was such a fun chat! 🖤
Tomorrow!!! Thrilled to be sharing my conversation with @lorasenf.bsky.social as we chat about her YA novel, Unnamed Bones. This is a very, very powerful book, one that I’m still thinking about at least once a week. And you can hear all about it tomorrow 🖤
Reminder for anyone with young readers: UNNAMED BONES is NOT middle grade. It might be totally fine for your kid but know it has violence, gore, swearing, and basically non-stop bad stuff. I think it's a lot of fun and your kid might too! I just want to manage expectations. It's out tomorrow. 🖤
I don't make a habit of reading reviews. Both good and bad reviews get in my head too much and it's not good for me. But my publisher seems to have no such problem so they went and found these fab reviews of UNNAMED BONES. It's out this Tuesday if it sounds like your jam. 🖤
My family leaves for Croatia in less than a week (first international trip for the kids) and I have basically done nothing to get us ready. I'm sure it'll be fine.
I don't know why I'm telling you this but I didn't know Tom Holland was English until like two days ago. I cannot tell you how much crap I'm receiving in my house right now.
UNNAMED BONES is out one week from today so I asked my kids to take pictures of it for me. The Girl Child went full designer mode and included my back catalogue, relevant information, Bird, and a Clackity hand. The Boy Child went clean and simple. Preorders and library requests very appreciated.
It's paperback release day for PENNIES-a Blight Harbor prequel-and my author copies just showed up on my porch. There's something special about this book for me. Maybe it's just that I love these four girls so much. Plus I'm super-extra in love with this cover by @redolaf.bsky.social and Karyn Lee
I'm on deadline so naturally a back burner project is trying to move to the front. Why are brains like this?

Happy #MiddleGradeMonday! Today a journey to find a sunshine life without permission or guidance…but using the power of friendship and family and pure determination. THE LONELIEST PLACE By @lorasenf.bsky.social It’s the end of Evie’s quest, but just the beginning of her life.

Me again. One week until PENNIES - a Blight Harbor prequel - is out in paperback. Two weeks until UNNAMED BONES - ya survival cosmic horror - is out in hardcover and paperback. You can pre/order signed copies of these and all my titles from Auntie's and Wishing Tree Books in Spokane, WA. They ship!
New habit I'm working on: Every time I debate sharing good news/an accomplishment/praise, I'm asking myself, "Would a man hesitate to share this?" The reluctance to "brag" is ingrained *deeply* and is very loud (and I know I'm speaking in gendered generalities and nothing is universal).
Holy moly - thrilled to see UNNAMED BONES on this list. And the way they talked about it? Didn't expect @bloody-disgusting.com to make me tear up this morning! Thank you. 🖤 bloody-disgusting.com/books/395839...

Excited to share that my adult debut is coming summer 2028. DEATH NO. 114 is something new from me but my hope is it's full of heart and weirdness and recognizably mine-just with more nastiness and violence and swears. I'll yell about it more soon but happy to have the announcement out in the world.

“Things would be okay. Maybe not perfect, not all the time. But okay. It would be right. And that was all I really wanted.” THE LONELIEST PLACE By @lorasenf.bsky.social BIG SIGH Love you, Evie and Bird and Aunt D and Lark and Gray and Lily and EVERYONE. A grand adventure. One wrapped in love
Drafting a new project and I met this character who has stopped me in my tracks. They are so strange and interesting - and I know they belong in the story - but they won't tell me why they're here. Gah. I think I have to just keep writing and hope they'll explain themselves? Hastag writer problems.
Just wrapped up line edits on the fifth Blight Harbor book. The working title of this one was Bone Tree Grove - a callback to Pennies. But then I realized it should be called Dear Desdemona - a callback to The Clackity - and that just felt right. Dear Desdemona will be out summer '27. 🖤
It will never happen but I want so desperately to experience being in a writers room working on something good. In a different life. Sigh.
