Huh. After Israel destroyed Gaza's sewage treatment systems, raw sewage flows from Gaza into the Mediterranean. That, in turn, has created a water crisis in Israel because the Gaza sewage has created a giant, toxic algal bloom which just shut down 5 out of 6 of Israel's water desalinization plants.

And as always a reptition of one of the worst habits of academics: "[x] shouldn't be a replacement for mitigation but an addition to it" Just blurting that out doesn't make it true. If a technology promises to keep fossil fuels going it will ALWAYS default to killing off climate action. **always**

To make matters worse Scope have been systematically shutting group homes (Which is where HACSU members work and where NDIS participants live) and they are proposing to sell off all of the buses at the homes for profit (which were given to them by the Victorian State government)

ABC reporting Marles has said Australia wants to integrate more quickly with the US. On what authority does Marles commit our nation to integration with the most dangerous and aggressive nation on earth? What does this mean for our economy and trade with China? Madness!

'Now is not the time' Same response. Year after year by the same bad actors As the world's climate destabilises and they keep on approving fossil fuel projects that will just accelerate it. Despairing that Australia will never have a government that will do anything real to mitigate climate change

Climate change a debate for later, PM says on Nepal floods.
Now is not the time to debate the role climate change played in the recent Nepal flood disaster, Anthony Albanese says.

every corp-speak pro-slop sound bite is like “we will design manual processes to partially deshittify the resultant slop after you upload your original work to the future eating machine” fuck off.

Albo on the role the climate crisis has played in the Nepal flood disaster (per the ABC): ‘Those debates will take place but I don’t think from Australia’s perspective, now’s the time.’ Fucking seriously?!?! Now IS the time! Hell it was time 30 fucking years ago! Disappointing as usual #auspol

PROPOSAL: We should stop saying “frontier AI models”, because that’s so obviously just spin from an industry trying to frame themselves as bold pioneers rather then reckless tinkerers. Instead we should say “untested” or “unproven” or “experimental” or the like.

Don't miss this excellent report "We have been shamefully slow to cut emissions, failed in most possible ways to restructure our approach to energy, transport and economic models. And are woefully underprepared for the now escalating polycrisis, locally or globally."

How AUKUS could destroy Australia

Recently, both Anthony Albanese and the Pentagon’s No. 3 official, Elbridge Colby, have separately reiterated that the AUKUS project remains ‘full steam ahead’.

When I see such articles from @abcnews, I wonder if they'd have given so much space to Pol Pot or Ratko Mladić or Adolf Hitler for the opportunity to explain in detail their blatant crimes against humanity & their excuses for committing them. I guess so. #auspol www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08...
