It's amazing how you can just change a word and it's basically the same exact thing they've been saying about trans people. And this is after years of them saying autistic people are vulnerable and therefore need to be protected from transitioning. Now they're saying being autistic is a lie as well.

Laws are not self executing. A law is words on paper. A giant piece of paper with "THE LAW" on it isn't going to swoop into the White House and remove Donald Trump. It's not going to stand on the border and stop Israeli bullets. It's not going to stop people from committing sexual assaults.

I did not think my expertise in pope kidnapping would be relevant in this day and age but yet here we are.
As awful as everything is, as real and as terrible as the damage is, it is an arresting thought to consider how much worse this could be if anyone in charge were even vaguely competent.
