As a Michigan voter who is grateful as fuck I wasn't in the state for that Senate primary, I think this deserves more attention: Jocelyn Benson has a MUCH easier route ahead of her than it looked like she would in January. MUCH easier. And that's going to help unify the party.
With all due respect, we're not even close to that yet.
At this point if you woke up tomorrow and gen AI no longer existed you would go about your day like nothing had happened because it would not matter; the goal long-term is to make it so that you *need* gen AI, and for that capital is willing to pollute and steal and lie as much as needed
The constant expansion and costs to human and non-human ecology of data centers is an almost absurdly perfect example of the way in which technological capitalism creates new "needs" that previously did not exist and more or less rams them into being whether anyone asked for their fulfillment or not
