Had a wonderful chat with Don't Nod MTL's @michelkoch.bsky.social and @lucbaghadoust.bsky.social about Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, a game I adored & think deserved more recognition! We talked about their 1-year anniversary, refreshing approach to nostalgia, Canadian Game Awards nominations & more.

#LostRecords: Bloom & Rage is finished. I had some issues with the early hours but after finishing it, every aspect about the beginning was crucial. Love what Don’t Nod did with the game. It brought so much of the same feelings as Life Is Strange that I longed for😩💖💖 video games 🔛🔝 as always.

We're proud to be a part of the @glaad.bsky.social Steam bundle highlighting some of the nominees for "Outstanding Video Game!" 🏳️‍🌈 We join games from @wadjeteyegames.bsky.social, @dontnod.bsky.social, @akuparagames.bsky.social, @catoptricgames.bsky.social, and @eviltrout.com. 💛

I recently finished playing the Lost Records game by @dontnod.bsky.social which must be one of my favourite console experiences of the 2020s so far. I didn't quite tick every box from Swann's 90s teenhood, but 90% of her bedroom took me right back - as did Cherry Coloured Funk out of nowhere.

It was fun to think like it was 1995 again. I made sure the songs on each side would fit the 30 mins available on most tapes at the time. This is the kind of tape I would have made for a girlfriend, with a side A more energetic 🔥 and a side B more calm 🌙

Whoever compiled the tracklist for the mixtape found behind the playground in Lost Records: Bloom and Rage was clearly channeling 1995 me. Every track is a banger and fairly sure that pretty much 75% of my mixtapes back then started with "You Can't Bring Me Down".

It’s crazy that Lost Records: Bloom & Rage came out a year ago!! I’m so proud of the work I did on that game. Special shout out to everyone who has played it!! And shout out to all you future players who should get on that lol

So great to see all the reactions to Michel’s post! Fun fact: What If? was the codename for Life is Strange. Lost Records began as Reunion, before Marin found the final name. Funny coincidence 😉 Here’s the game on my steam deck for the 1st time, next to Michel’s 2020 concept.

A year ago, we released #LostRecords. For its first birthday, if it ever inspired you to create something, a drawing, a poem, a song, anything you’d like to reshare, I’d love to see it again. Let’s turn this thread into a little time capsule. It would mean a lot to me.
