I think the most important issue at stake at #COP30 in #Bélem on mitigation is whether the #UNFCCC continues addressing the transitions needed to achieve the mitigation objectives of the #ParisAgreement - or gets forced back into discussing the global emissions gap only in abstract terms

Trump wants to make the US to dominate global 🔌💡energy markets, coerce the EU in buying ever more US LNG. Why should he be interested in brokering peace in Ukraine? It would only bring back Russian gas which would end his energy dreams. If anything it should be his interest to prolong the war, no?
