Pedal assist e-bikes. It’s real hot in Oklahoma and I ride with 1-3 kids. Riding a pedal-only bike for my daily trips is pleasant for 2 months out of the year, ebike extends that to essentially 12. It replaces a minimum of 6 trips per day.

One was for a 19-year old who doesn't own a car and needs it for work, and the other was for an older gentleman who can't drive a car. That's 37 bikes now that this little org has fixed up and given away.
And this is worse because it's not, "Wow, that ignores the burger-eating demographic," it's "wow, this ignores the Nazi, trans-hating, ICE-loving, white-pride demographic, so now we make sure they're welcome here, wait, where is everyone going--"
Building cities for people shouldn't be a radical idea. The real hostile, unnatural design is blanketing our communities with massive parking lots and urban highways.

People want to support local businesses without being forced to drive. The proof is everywhere, and the local farmers market is the perfect example.
Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

The speed of warming also suggests that our climate has a much higher sensitivity than 3 degrees celsius per doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide. It’s most likely above 4 degrees celsius. That means those climate models showing 3C climate sensitivity are badly wrong, and the future is far worse

We have seen what happens in cities like San Francisco when in-person enforcement just stops because the police decide not to do their jobs. Enforcement has its place. But a system that depends on the work of manned enforcement is problematic, to say the least.

Car-blindness is real! Psychologists or sociologists should study this. Giant two-ton boxes flying all around us, piloted by people who have been rendered psychopaths, regularly injuring & killing our neighbors, and many/most people just ... don't register it. It's just background noise.

See 2026 on right? It’s the hottest the El Niño subsurface has ever been measured. If we are being honest, we have to do serious research into how excess heat due to climate change (90% stored in Ocean) likely fuels stronger El Nino’s. To no one’s surprise, stored heat is coming back to haunt us!
