In San Francisco, real estate schemes prey on tenants’ awareness that they are competing against dozens of other qualified applicants for just a handful of  units.

I don’t begrudge people who don’t understand how analytic philosophy works—it’s weird! No reason to expect it to just be intuitively obvious!—but as a complaint about the thought experiment, this is a bit like watching John Wick and going ‘well that wouldn’t happen’. Like, yeah. We know

Some friends wanted to see the whacky husband on our recent trip to Shasta. He confirmed that his dead wife did not follow conventional medical advice but theorizes that because cancer has different DNA (hello mutations!) it is a "parasite" and should be treated with.... wait for it .... Ivermectin!

Just learned that an old friend who cut off contact with our friend group a few years before she died of cancer had turned full MAGA in her last few years. I want to blame her whacky husband who had bought into the Q conspiracy theory, but she was an adult who made her own decisions.

Look, I'm no financial whiz, but I'm thinking of setting up an investment advisory firm called Red Flag Financials that advises against investing in companies based only on their names. I would've definitely advised not to invest in Investment Securities, Fraud Guarantee, or Situational Awareness.

Situational Awareness, led by a 24-year-old, exploded onto the artificial intelligence scene — and then nose-dived.

I made dinner for my abuser a bunch of times. You have to play nice while you're planning your escape so you don't get dead. Max Miller is a textbook abuser.

Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

I love a good apron, a full one with pockets, preferably. The only drawback is when I take it off, I forget I'm no longer wearing it and continue to wipe my hands in my clothes.

Listening to WWDTM on the radio now and one quiz question was what vehicle has just eclipsed the Ford Edsel as the worst selling vehicle of all time. The Sonoma county audience started cheering and clapping before the contestant even answered.

Happy Schadenfriday! "Federal prosecutors on Friday acknowledged that contractors hired by the Trump administration had botched the renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and sought to drop charges against David Hearn, a former Olympic canoeist... accused of vandalizing the landmark."

Hopefully this will help other parents wake up. '“You were convicted because the warning lights were flashing brighter and brighter and you didn’t get him help and you didn’t remove his access to the guns,” the judge said as he handed down the sentence. '"It is clear you failed as a parent."'

Colin Gray, Father of Teenage Shooter in Georgia, Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison (Gift Article)

Prosecutors argued that Colin Gray bore responsibility for the 2024 shooting because he had given his son a gun and failed to act as the teen’s mental health deteriorated.

Just came across these old headlines about the planned development at Candlestick, the first which says they will start work in 2025, the second which says they will start work in early 2026. Then the plan changed to mid-year, and now it's September 2026. Hopefully it will happen before 2027...

The massive development at Candlestick Point was supposed to break ground "mid year" but now it's happening this September. What's another few months when we've been waiting a decade? Archived version of the story: archive.ph/Dba7P

I don't think I need to spell out what is or is not an AH move to make on here. You are free to behave how you like. And I am free to immediately block you for what you probably already knew was an AH move to make. Buh-bye in advance!

Some photos a friend took of my doggos swimming and living their best lives in Mt. Shasta, where we spent the weekend. One is from the Sacramento River and the other is from an undisclosed mountain lake (not allowed to post names/locations on social media!).

A black lab with an orange toy swims in a river with very clear sparkling water. Behind her are large rocks and trees on the opposite bank. Two black labs are barely visible swimming in a mountain lake with one person in the water behind them. On the far side of the lake tall trees and a mountain peak can be seen. The water's surface is reflecting the green all around.
