JKR explicitly said she considers anything Potter-related, even fan-made, endorsement of her politics. And every time you engage with this franchise, you signal to the industry that there's still money in it and they should keep pumping out content from full-cast audiobooks to book box partnerships.

UK folk! Do you like live music? Do you like supporting independent artists? Do you like queer ones with amazing voices and heartfelt songs? Then come see Fancy Hagood on tour next month. Especially in Manchester as I suggested he book that venue and I want to see it PACKED OUT.

This is the curse of BBC News. In an attempt to appease the far right they've allowed their once internationally renowned journalism to collapse inwards. I'm still hoping Bob Vylan's lawsuit for the lies BBC News repeated about them results in a few heads rolling and genuine change. I doubt it.

I was not informed by the BBC that they would have a right wing political figure or lobbyist on after me to rebut what I said. The individual in question went on to spout lies about China, etc. to distract attention from the Trump administration's assault on climate action. This is unacceptable.

I don't think @lucympowell.bsky.social has even stopped to consider the pain and suffering this is going to cause. Deciding trans kids must suffer all because of reactionary right-wing ideology is as far removed from the Labour Party I used to know as you can get.

The fact the UK government has pushed through legislation that doesn't just stop trans kids using bathrooms but ACTIVELY discourages staff from supporting transition breaks my heart. Section 28 reborn. We live in suppression again. Thanks @andyburnham.bsky.social You just killed those kids.

This will be your legacy @lucympowell.bsky.social. The transphobic legislation you have pushed through will result in an entire generation of queer trauma and a lot of suicides. And that blood will be on your hands. All because TERFs fund the Labour Party. Shame on you.

I'm 41. I started school in 1989 - the year after Section 28 was brought in. I left college in 2003 the year it was repealed. I am still trying to unpick the damage that law did to me. Now @andyburnham.bsky.social & co bring it back in trans-exclusionary form. I'm ashamed of this country.

Can't say I'm particularly impressed by this year's Mercury Prize nominations. As usual. Here's my alternate 12. Remember - artists have to be British or Irish, and albums have to have come out between 30 Aug 2025 and 17 July 2026 to be eligible. Alphabetical order then.

Hey nice folk. It'd mean the world to me if some of you could watch the poems I'm posting under the hashtag #dogfacewords. If you like them, please share them. Help me get the word out! I also have an Instagram account for them @dogfacewords It'd REALLY please me to see you follow it!

When you've been together so long a simple "I Love You" no longer cuts the mustard. Track 07 in Dogface Words is: THE WAY YER BRAIN WORKS. An ode to neurodivergent companionship. #poetryofbluesky #poemoftheday #queerartist #neurodivergent #dogfacewords

Boy George had a fantastic singing voice and made some excellent pop records in the 1980s and very early 1990s. He has not been relevant for over 30 years, has a long history of biphobia and transphobia (the latter seemed to vanish recently), and beat up a rent boy he kidnapped, so... Fuck him.

I often find myself remembering Cleese talking about how disappointed he was when he met Malcolm Muggeridge for the Life of Brian debate and saw this once-sharply comedic mind he enjoyed growing up reduced to spouting such pitiful, reactionary, conservative nonsense…

I once had the privilege of sitting on a panel with John Cleese. He was delightful in person, but I have to say I’m not overly staggered he’s voicing support for a proper nightmare extremist.

"The writing was a bit wonky." Say people who have never written a script in their fucking lives and just think a project not doing exactly what THEY want means it is badly made. Show me on the doll where scriptwriters hurt you, middle aged straight white men.
