the fauci stuff seems pretty straightforward: conservatives were meant to feel scared and vulnerable and faced the need for collective and government action. the ones that didn't die from stubbornness decided they'd never be made to feel that way again, and decided someone had to be at fault.

sometimes people ask me what I want from the media that they're not already doing and "defend Americans' rights to democracy, freedom, civil rights etc the same way they defend Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state" would be basically what I'd ask for.

As much as I hate to say it because it’s cheap webforum meta discourse, the strongest correlation to Platner support wasn’t ideology, it was if you still frequently use X, The Everything App. I would hope that would lead to some introspection about what remaining on there does to your judgement.

Like I said, there's no small amount of finger-pointing that's going to happen as a result of this. But Platner was a creation of Ryan Grim, Bernie Sanders, and Matt Stoller, as much as he was of Pod Save America and Matt Yglesias. That's what has to be reckoned with.

Anonymised skeet saying "Beg pardon. Dems/liberals are not the left of anything except capitalism."

utter failure by all involved. schumer and the dscc for championing mills. pod save bros trying to turn a big dial taht says nazi. probably costs us the senate and 1-2 more supreme court seats.
