1/5 I'll die on this hill: if it wasn't for John Watts' Spider-Man trilogy, I don't think Brand New Day would have worked nearly as well. No spoilers, but Brand New Day hits as hard as it does because of everything John Watts built across Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home.

to me there is no such thing as a spider-man movie that is too long. i would watch a 4 hour cut of brand new day or across the spider-verse happily, especially if there are more scenes of the characters talking to each other and crying.
