If you’re cis & you want trans folks to know they’re valid and cared for, here’s a tip: Don’t say it to a trans person. Go talk to a cis person. Talk to your dad. Your coworker. Your friends. Ask if they know whats going on. Ask if they have uncertainties when it comes to the ~trans issue.~

I used to work for an elected official as the person who answered their emails. I can tell you from personal experience, if even twenty or thirty people all call an official in a day, they start panicking. This stuff does help.

I know you hate this advice. I know you hear it all the time, but for gods sake you need to be calling your congressperson. Now. Today. If you have a GOP representative, you need to call and ask if they approve of stripping congress of its constitutional authority. If they like being powerless.

These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.
