(I prefer going out door knocking with canvassers as I think it gives you a better sense than randomly stopping people in the street - in my experience this tends to bias towards the sort of person who likes to stop to talk in the street and most people don’t like to do this)

On the Labour side, there’s a lot of “the public are not able to face up to Hard Choices” - you never gave them the chance to! You instead presented a manifesto that was either an act of self-deception or just of regular deception!

In a previous life I worked out of a museum service for a bit. It cost £750k a year just to keep the building at the required temperature not to void our insurance on the collection. Heritage is INCREDIBLY expensive!

And now I recognise that a lot of people who don’t work in heritage don’t know that, so I’m telling you. The conversion is expensive. Running museums is expensive. Heritage is expensive. And you’d also need the new building on top of that. Renovation is the best option here.

As a Europoor, American’s equating basic budgeting to destitution just makes me want a giant firewall in the middle of the Atlantic
