This is wild: The map has gotten so bad for the GOP that a number of the biggest MAGA personalities in the House are at serious risk of defeat. That includes some who were involved in Jan 6. I tallied it all up here. This could be a MAGA bloodbath. 1/ (new piece) newrepublic.com/article/2174...

Suddenly, MAGA’s Biggest Players in the House Are in Danger of Defeat

Here’s how bad it’s gotten for the Republicans: Numerous red-hot MAGA-heads in the House are at risk of losing their once-safe seats.

"Between wealth and power, between corruption in high places and their own stagnant real wages" Fascinating read and though focused on the US the underlying issues promoting the right are reflected in the UK. It highlights why Farage now fails as he is identified with corruption/establishment.

The most immediate choice Americans will make tomorrow is between politicians who have led and enabled that neofascist cult, and politicians who have rejected it. But the real choice goes much deeper. Some thoughts. 👇 https://robertreich.substack.com/p/sunday-thought-we-will-prevail-447

It appears that the whole “migrants are a drain on the economy” argument isn’t nearly as robust as the interlocutors would like us to believe. Almost as though the rhetoric was purposefully incendiary and a thinly veiled attempt at scapegoating immigrants for the failure of multiple governments.

Jenrick is just a liar. But #r4today focused on the cost of immigration, not the benefits. Great to be starting a more honest debate on Brexit but we urgently need a more honest debate on immigration too. The vast majority of immigrants come here to make a life and to contribute. Racism is ruinous.

I can't believe Burnham would be stupid enough to give British citizenship to 400,000 people just 6 years after they came here.
That would cost us hundreds of billions of pounds if they stay forever.
It would go down as one of the worst decisions in modern British history.Skilled migrants
'contribute billions more to UK than they cost'
Shabana Mahmood's plan to toughen immigration rules could be scaled back after a think tank's calculations on the net gain from skilled workers.

Mincho died as he lived: a captive of an industry that confined him to artificial concrete tanks and denied him the freedom and natural life every dolphin deserves💔 Honor his memory by never buying a ticket to marine parks.
