My kid says this all the time too, and I love that it’s derogatory, but he’ll say it about things that are real and then I have to convince him it’s not AI. And so what it actually feels like is that kids are losing the ability to trust what they see with their own eyes 🙃

Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards. With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43. Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.

Books don't tell readers who they personally are or who they are supposed to be. They do show readers a variety of characters. Implicit in that is this: "Here are some ways of being." Kids books aren't altering your kid to be someone new. They are simply showing them parts of humanity.
