Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."
Jayapal: To the survivors in the room, if you are willing, please stand. And if you are willing, please raise your hands. If you have still not been able to meet with this DOJ. Please note for the record that every single survivor has raised their hand.
When a whistleblower’s lawyer gives you a deadline and cites the statute, that is not posturing. That is the last stop before Congress. And they just pulled the trigger.
Suddenly, the Second Amendment is an optional thing for the Republican Party.
Federal law enforcement agents shot and killed a man in Minneapolis on Jan. 24 according to local police officials. DHS told Fox News that the man was “armed with a gun”. A video of the shooting appears to show that a gun was taken from the man before the first shot was fired. x.com/BillMelugin_...
We’ve placed the available videos of the shooting of Alex Pretti by federal agents in Minneapolis today into the same synchronised timeline and are continuing to analyse further.

I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland. Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.
There is a larger question here about how people view and relate to their country and how this impacts people's perception of the state over a longer time horizon. Not to be melodramatic, but this is literally not the country I thought I was fighting for.
“'The guy, I’m telling him like, "Please step off the school grounds," and this dude comes up and bumps into me and then tells me that I pushed him, and he knocked me down,' an official at Roosevelt High School said. 'They don’t care. They’re just animals. I’ve never seen people behave like this.'"
Also useful for what has reportedly happened in Portland with another DHS-related shooting.

Even if Kash Patel's FBI doesn't care, making this act of explicit cover-up advances the overall political goal of thwarting authoritarian takeover, by making the Feds look more and more and more toxic.
Also, re: the BCA pulling out: Even if its harder, the BCA (and MPD, and everyone else) should keep investigating because of POLITICS. PUBLICLY investigate, make it clear it's bc the FBI is covering things up. Hold daily pressers about progress and publicly shame the FBI.
So this isn't great, but as the FBI itself acknowledges, it cannot "take over" investigations from local actors. Which means the MPD retains the full authority to investigate a murder that happened on non-federal MN land, even if it pisses off the FBI.
If a crime is committed that is a violation of local, state, and federal laws, does the FBI “take over” the investigation? | Federal Bureau of Investigation
No. State and local law enforcement agencies are not subordinate to the FBI, and the FBI does not supervise or take over their investigations. Instead, the investigative resources of the FBI and state...

We are a country whose Constitution, according to the Supreme Court, gives our own presidents immunity for crimes committed while in office, but we will prosecute presidents of other countries for alleged crimes and invade them to execute arrest warrants.
Trump campaigned on an “America First” platform. Now he wants to "run" Venezuela? 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Health care is collapsing. Housing is unaffordable. Trump should address these major crises at home and end his illegal military adventurism abroad.
"Trump has not even a fig leaf of legal authority for his attacks on Venezuela." Yep. That this is illegal is the point. As with January 6, his sexual assaults, his frauds, and every other crime, the point is to demonstrate that he is above the law. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/03/o...

Venezuela Live Updates: Trump Says U.S. Will ‘Run the Country’ After Capture of Maduro

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad. The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.
From Jay Kuo on Facebook: "So apparently, if you take a redacted Epstein files document and simply copy and paste the text into another document, you can see the entire unredacted text in many cases (not all, some I tried didn’t work.) Sleuths: Get on it before they figure out a workaround! 😆"

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.
