I made The Blockheads, a mobile game released in 2013 which has been played by more than 50 million people. Now I’m making a new world wide web from first principes, an alternative to the http protocol: https://ktp.nz AI is harmful and should be banned.

A nice side effect of having built Waraki Music Player on top of Katipo, is that you only have to install updates on the main library device. All the player devices then grab the latest updates from the library device when they sync.

A band mate suggested it would be good to be able to pitch shift songs by semitones, to play along with a capo. I agreed, so I added an optional set of buttons to Waraki, and it really is excellent, and quite fun

Fable can only find the vulnerabilities it knows about, not the ones all the other models know about, or the ones it is introducing when it “fixes” them. You can’t win and make your software “secure”, even if you give the AI overlords $10k every time they release a new model.

I told glenn he *had* to check his networking libraries with a frontier model, despite of course AI being fucking horrible; it *immediately* found a huge fucking stack in years old foundational code used by tons of games.

I keep thinking back to the woman I saw with the selfie stick on a tripod. She set it up pointed at a park bench, then sat on the bench and pretended to look at the view for a while in different poses. I might write a song about her.

It was interesting, camping in winter, how everyone hides away in the dark. At 7pm it could be the middle of the night, everyone is on screens in their motorhomes, leaving the facilities and starlit lakesides peaceful and completely free of tourists.

I took my family camping mid winter in a caravan for 2 weeks with no screens. It was just epic. Went on bush walks, met weka and kea, played a lot of Presidents and Assholes, built snowmen, slid down roadside hills, sang songs with family we hadn’t seen in years, got very good at reversing a caravan

@kenney.nl are these your animal icons being used in this Captcha? Or just very similar? I failed the captcha a few times to get different variations, and the assets appear to have been modified (with AI?)

I sang an impromptu duet with my 12 y/o yesterday, then shed a tear. It's not just that one moment that was great, but that we will be able to do that together forever now. I thought I couldn't sing, that my voice sucked too bad, but it didn't matter. Singing with friends and family is the best.

It seems maybe all current devices, software, and protocols will be totally open to attack some time quite soon, if not already. Not sure what happens then eh, I mean, for things that need any form of security, like banks, govts, business, everyone
