Wild that this shit is still going on -- university administrators just plowing money into AI, with no particular vision or goal, against the wishes of most professors & students, even as money is desperately needed for other things.

So many people give up time and resources just to help the broader research community in roles that are broadly invisible, frequently under-appreciated, and certainly under-rewarded (at least financially). They deserve huge thanks from us all!

Just as we don't extend academic freedom to flat-earthers, we shouldn't extend it to "race realists". They consistently ignore or misunderstand the vast quantity of research across multiple fields that rubbishes their "viewpoints", and they produce shockingly bad "research" to support their views.

He says the framing of Jason having provided statements from Nick and his mum was inaccurate: Jason had nothing to do w/it. They provided the statements themselves. When he complained, the Guardian first fobbed him off to the readers editor and then refused to change the wording. 3/
