This reminds me I had the unfortunate experience of opening LinkedIn a few days ago and reading a person working for the superyatch industry and paraphrasing: Why do people complain about superyatchs? It won't be better to talk about nice things? we have better stuff than cheaper ships! Me:

+ All the people who are anti-Al or want to slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you still get through an entire workday without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
Al tool?
Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it up?

Not a surprise, btw to whoever says the USA power needs to be reduced... yes and no. What needs to be reduced is the way any government can grab the resources of another one illegally ( that includes territory ). Because we know what the fucking Russia/China want 🤢🤮. P.S. from a real socialist.

Just as Dr Munoz says, deeply untrue... the number of people I know when to outside/companies/personal projects and so on and returned to academia is damn high! It does not mean it is easy but far from you can't... P.S. the publishing metric is slightly mistrusted by many in corporate/companies.

They tell you that once you leave academia, you can’t go back. But is the door really closed, or might you return on better terms? 🧪 thenaturalscientist.substack.com/p/can-you-go...

Micro electronic miniaturisation... YO gotta love how you can pack as much power as an M2 MacBook in a credit card size/thick thing. After the Chinese stuff, now it is time to reach for the American stuff!
