I feel like a paradox. 🤯 For a big part of my life, I did everything to avoid the fate of teaching while studying history—which seemed destined to make me a professor. I only wanted the research part... ...and now, as an experienced game designer, I crave teaching my craft? WTF me.

As a narrative designer who deeply respected Breath of the Wild and was endlessly frustrated by Tears of the Kingdom's shocking shallowness, I'm begging people to learn there is, in fact, a way to use narrative to embolden and strengthen gameplay without suffocating it. It's very possible.
