Matthew Kirschenbaum@mkirschenbaum.bsky.social · 2w agoI honestly don’t think most people outside of the DC area understand how cruel and punishing Trump’s conduct toward the city is and has been. I think at some level the perception is that it isn’t a city at all, not like Minneapolis or Chicago.
Looking forward to the sequel: WaPo interviews dozens of disillusioned Rethugs at Trump International Airport or Trump Ken Cen or Trump Penn Station or a Cracker Barrel on the Trump Turnpike to Hell. Not holding my breath. Different parties, different rules. #MediaFail

I'm really into all the sportsmanship, healthy masculinity and honest human emotion we've been seeing out of the US Open So many ways to be a man that don't involve narcissism, bullying, pouting, snarling, and/or cheating.

We’re going to hear about how everyone loved Dolly, and that feels true. But it’s good to remember, and to her credit, that she was attacked for her AIDS activism, her vaccine advocacy, her LGBTQ+ support and even, more recently, for her reading initiatives. She ALWAYS stood firm when it mattered.
The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

NYT wanted to write a story about "moderate Dems go to war with DSA," looked around, and the best they could find was a *proposal* by Third Way to spend $15M against left candidates. The story is not evidence that *Democrats* and the left hate each other... it's evidence that the NYT hates both.
