Do you have any idea how many public services my taxes pay for that I am *happy* to never take advantage of while hoping everyone who *does* need those services has them available? Do you even society, bro?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Scooby had a checkup for her ear today. It's looking much better, but she still has to wear her bonnet for a little longer. Next checkup scheduled for later this week.
Poor puppy had an ear hematoma and now has to wear a silly little bonnet for two weeks. On the plus side, she got a "perfect angel" award from the vet. Note her muzzle, which is covered in much peanut butter--as am I.
Fascinating color changes happened with the clay, but yeah, they are crispy critters.
I have, at this point, baked thousands of polymerclay pieces. Somehow, I've never accidentally set the oven to 375 instead of 275. Until today. 😩

Pop quiz: Is "He grows anxious when he has an unexpressed thought" an appropriate personality trait for a) a nervous chihuahua b) the president of the United States
Sen. John Kennedy on Trump's blatant reflecting pool lies: "The president says it was caused by vandals. I don't know if he really believes that or it's part of his political messaging or he's just thinking out loud ... he grows anxious when he has an unexpressed thought."
I just don't understand why people don't seem to enjoy the transcendent pleasure of crafting artisanal thoughts with your own brain.
Okay, yes, this is good. But everybody is sleeping on the VERY IMPORTANT post above it.

It’s nice to see everyone’s textual analysis of The Odyssey It’s almost like the humanities give you entertainment, feelings, pleasure, and fun/interesting stuff to talk about, as well as lenses into both past and current society
Meta destroyed a home (literally crushed it) and left a family with four children homeless so they could have an AI data center. Do. Not. Use. AI. Do not destroy people's lives for AI.
Squished in the middle of this story was this heartbreaking paragraph. Unconscionable.
IF YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO PURCHASE WARNER BROS YOU CAN MAKE A SECOND D&D MOVIE

I'm pretty sure my go-to answer, Morgan Freeman, is a lot of people's answer. I would also happily take Indira Varma.
You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?

Honey as an ice cream topping is criminally underrated.
Also obligate bipedalism is actually a terrible design and--hill I will die on--the tech world's obsession with creating bipedal robots when they could create *anything else* speaks purely to hubris.
I'm always amused by the way humans fetishize "walking upright," "tool use," and "language" as the iconic features of a superior species. And of course we ignore or downplay the obvious signs of all three in every other species. "They only walk upright SOMETIMES. Not like a true upright walker."

We live in a time line where tech bros not only creat the Torment Nexus, but they call it Nexus Torment and think we won't notice.
So, I love the X-Files. I looooove the X-Files. But, on rewatch , some of these episodes... Holy racist shitballs, Batman.
He could have any beautiful thing anybody could want. He would just have to be anyone other than he is.
elon musk could have whatever movie he wanted made, as professionally as he wanted, starting pretty much whenever he might want. he could probably even direct it. that he has the imagination of your average gooner and just wants AI to have and realize an artistic vision for him is really revealing
Man, it is amazing how Taco Bell sauce out of a bottle and Taco Bell sauce out of a packet are two completely separate things.
