Re-listening to George Saunders's VIGIL today. I think if you liked Lincoln in the Bardo (also by him) or Bewilderment (RP) (or other climate change novels) you'd like it (it is slightly less maddening than Bewilderment, whose ending I hated) ...

I was rereading my diary last night from 2006, when my first book of poetry, Organic Furniture Cellar, was published. It shipped to me on 8/1/06 and I was frantically waiting for it to arrive, which it finally did on 8/7. Twenty years ago today I was waiting in my apartment in Charlottesville.

I like this book b/c my life makes a lot more sense with this framing 😂 I’m doing everything right basically, even failing right V comforting book that I think is especially useful for people ~15-25 or going through big changes in their lives (related to jobs, relationships, not deaths)
