Hei!

Three years after NGOs challenged Italy's restrictions on civilian search and rescue, the Commission has yet to decide. Policies that obstruct rescues put lives at risk. The Commission must act to uphold EU and international law.

EU has failed to act as Italian rules obstruct sea rescues | MSF

Three years after MSF and other NGOs submitted a complaint on Italy’s rules which impede civilian search and rescue activities, the European Union has failed to provide a decision.

1/ The border has not disappeared—it has been transformed. Politicians talk about the need for "legal migration pathways" (while at the same time pushing deportations) and development agencies and private consultancies apparently have the answer: Circular Labour Mobility Schemes.

This is the EU’s external border policing in practice. The Morocco gov itself will benefit from this ‘incident’ - which left at least 75 ppl dead - while ordinary people suffer the consequences. Expect more EU deals that financially benefit the Moroccan monarchy

Spanish authorities began deporting hundreds of undocumented migrants who had crossed into Ceuta days earlier, and whom Moroccan security forces met with beatings and arrests upon return. 🧵

SoMe help! My mum and I travelled with SAS aircraft SE-ROM from Berlin to Stockholm (SK2680) today, from where the aircraft flew to Manchester (SK2549). My mum forgot a blue plastic bag by her seat containing two pictures sized approx. 30x40 cm. One of them was this. Have you seen the bag?

A painted, pink pig with wings. Above the pig it says "ich kann fluegen" (I can fly)

That harm to women and girls in general is not taken seriously, combined with multiple high-profile men continuing to get passes based on power, talent, or activism with other causes, creates a very worrying landscape for women. Tolerance is still way too high. It needs to start actually mattering.

That "men should be allowed, without judgement or consequence, to do an amount of harm to women and girls that I personally deem acceptable" seems to be a genuine opinion still held by too many people in the year two thousand and twenty six is incredibly grim

Like I don't even get why people are cooking up stupid shit about Morocco and Spain (I do know why) when there's really no defensible position here except that people should be allowed free movement.

Hørte på Collide With The Sky før jeg sovna gjennom hele feltarbeidsperioden Hører på albumet, nå, 14 år senere og sovner nesten mens jeg er ute og går kveldstur.
