This after the House Ethics Committee found “substantial reason to believe [he] violated House Rules related to sexual harassment and hostile workplaces.”
Seems like the ultra-rich will spend 10 million dollars to avoid paying 1 million in additional taxes.
Dead or alive, Mitch McConnell is on extended medical leave — on your dime. This is the same Mitch McConnell who voted against: paid family and medical leave for everyone else.
Half the planet is having a massive fight about how to correctly interpret an Ancient Greek poem but go ahead, close some more humanities departments.
We don't pay taxes then get a bunch of stuff for free anymore than we give the grocery store money then get food for free. We use a system of taxation to pay for services produced by the public sector.
Politicians usually show up at the border to demonize & fear-monger. We just drove 750 miles from El Paso to the Valley to show off the beauty & potential of our border communities. We’re showing up for Texans along the border who've been left behind by both political parties.
I wonder if the poison lettuce from Walmart is one of the items for which the president ordered them to lower the price?

You were involved in handling the Epstein case at the Justice Department and in meetings at the White House about its public relations response to the case. Do you see why some people would consider that a conflict of interest? Might refraining from one of those activities have been better judgment?
My only take on Erling Haaland hype is that he grew up under Democratic socialism in Norway which boosts one of the highest happiest indexes of any country globally & I can’t but feel that come across in his attitude both as a player & human. He seems to be having fun. Like many whose needs are met.

Yet he still has a job, still getting paid, and getting unlimited world class healthcare. The man who voted against a living wage, against universal healthcare, and against guaranteed paid leave, is now getting all three.

This is one of the reasons I hate the framing of “discovery” — a beautiful graphic novel doesn’t need to erase the academic work it draws from. Now more than ever we should remember scholarship is human-made — & academic books often cost FAR more to research/write/publish than they will EVER make.
