How is it that Iran cannot be trusted with nukes, because they threaten the annihilation of Israel, but the US can be trusted with nukes, even though they threaten the annihilation of Iran?

Now the 🇺🇸 ambassador to 🇧🇪 is threatening to destroy the life of the leader of the main centre-left party in Belgium with 🇺🇸sanctions (could no longer use credit cards etc) because he criticised what ICE is doing. And yet these people have the nerve to say it is Europe threatening free speech.

I think, Europe needs to confront the challenge by the Trumpists ("civilisational erasure") directly. What does it mean to be civilized? It is the respect of limits on one's power, rule of law, restraint from acting without due process, acceptance of inherent rights of others and own fallibility.

Why is Ukraine able to withstand war & bombing like it is? Because of the Maidan - refounding the will of the people to their own democratic self determination. Why can we in Europe not bring ourselves to support UA like we should, in our own interest? Because we did not have this for too long.

Carney reportedly wrote the speech himself. Canada's govt is in good hands. He urges everyone to recognize that the US has joined Ru in finishing off the intl order and is trying to convert allies into vassals but also to remember Canada/EU/others have the power to push back and defend sovereignty.
