Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.

Not every day in the sewing room is pure joy. Today was frustration and walking on, putting one foot, one thread change, in front of the other. Sometimes the places where we turn for respite have other lessons to teach. #Quiltsky

Thinking out loud (on BlueSky): He’s building a fortress because he does not plan to leave but he’s also actively dying. So what’s the plan? He certainly doesn’t intend to pass the mantle to JD. An awful lot of people are enabling this intended coup but who will be their standard bearer?

others have said it better than me, but among other things “nah, impulsively tearing down a Chesterton’s Fence that was built over multiple generations will have no serious long-term consequences” is an especially stupid take coming from a self-professed “conservative”

Trump 2.0 has blown up US scientific research in a way that will take decades to roll back. Labs that took years to build have closed, young people have left science. NYT Mag published a long report on Dismantling Cancer Research. Why does Ross Douthat lie like this?
