it’s been two weeks since Callie died from her injuries after being attacked by a loose dog. it’s been almost 13 years since I adopted her (Oct 25, 2013). despite the painful and unfair end, we had a good run of hikes, treats, snow, cuddles, floppy ears and swishy tails, and cats touching her butt

1/ We're back with our New York public health update for the week. First up, Covid is starting to increase again in New York. Hospitalizations remain low, but wastewater, ER visits, and hospital admissions are all beginning to trend upward, suggesting a summer wave is underway.
Just so you know, it is very hard to eat an avocado with your non-dominant hand. 🤣
Ok friends my turn in the ER today! Nothing too fancy but a fracture in my hand/wrist. Wrist not painful hand super painful but better now it's splinted. Send good thoughts for no surgery!!! There will be more typos and less punctuation for a while. 😂

Had something happy to start August off right. Some of you will remember that I lost one of my 100+yo pecan trees 2 yrs ago after Hurricane Helene. I had planted a little garden of bulbs around that tree (cause grass doesn't grow well under large shady trees). Some gladiolus, jonquil, etc. 1/2

Every time Hegseth stands at pentagon podium to announce some wild holy war action, our shadow SecDef gets up at ours to explain what we’d do differently. Same with RFK vaccine announcements or supplement things. Create a constant contrast, counter narrate the presidency.
