I would happily pay to subsidize NYC grocery stores and I live in California. I can't imagine a better use for my tax money than to help feed people.

My feelings on the Hank Green situation are actually complicated. I just hope he gets better, because he has spent years making informative, progressive leaning, thoughtful videos.
I'm gonna need some clarification from @hankgreen.bsky.social here. He's earned some benefit of the doubt, but this could very well be what causes me to unfollow all of his projects. ChatGPT can't do research. That's just plain not what it does.

Anytime I watch or listen to a musical, I like to consider where I might be cast. I know for a fact that I'm a hell of a singer,, so it's a fun mental exercise. In Hadestown, it's very clear to me that I would be one of the chorus, and I do not feel any shame at all about that. Keep your head low.
A number of things are going pretty bad right now, both in my own life and the world at large. But on Wednesday, I get to start teaching a new year of students how to decode reality.

I agree with this completely. My oversimplified philosophy is that canon doesn't exist. It can be fun to talk about, but it's not actually important. All canon is headcanon.

As someone who lost his mother to melanoma... WEAR. SUNSCREEN. I don't care what color your skin is. I don't care how susceptible you are to burning. I don't care if it's overcast out. Wear the damn sunscreen. Melanoma does NOT mess around. It will kill you quickly and efficiently.

My hot Final Fantasy take: That fake laughing scene in FF10 was actually a very touching and human moment that really brought two deeply traumatized characters closer together. Y'all just don't understand that there's such a thing as context.
Two things. 1) They don't "identify as" trans. They ARE trans. "Identifies as" is a TERF dogwhistle. 2) That's 3 million people. Why AREN'T you obsessed with making sure they get equal rights?
