I spoke to Double Fine boss Tim Schafer about getting kicked out of Xbox and rediscovering the thrills of being independent. This week's column is a real good one: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

Really excited to finally release FPOM! 🥳 It's a Parallax Occlusion Mapping shader I made with the goal of having an alternative for Nanite Displacement that looks good for a fraction of the cost. Works with Landscape, Mesh Terrain, Meshes, Decals etc. fab.com/listings/f56... #gamedev
Our production company @secrettape.bsky.social has been working on a set of videos uncovering the design & development of Crossfire. Which has a far more fascinating game design challenge than I was anticipating from a third person shooter. Watch Episode One now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU8e...

Hey! Unfortunately, with my first job in the games industry, I have been hit with layoffs at That's No Moon. Hit me up if there's any environment art positions open remotely or in LA! I'm gonna go back to personal projects and playing cyberpunk probably 👍
Hello, I was one of those affected by the layoff at TNM this past Thursday. If you or anyone you know of any openings or would just want to connect please DM me or comment below. I appreciate your help. www.artstation.com/adrianicastro

Odysseus picking 1 of 3 random upgrades after surviving each island.
Seeing The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm was pure fucking magic. I am in utter awe of the entire medium of film. What a privilege it is to be alive and be able to experience it that way

Can finally share some of the photos I took in Morocco during one of our scan trips for Crossfire. One of the most stunningly beautiful places I've ever visited, and filled with the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met.
A cinematic thriller where trust is survival. Experience tense, grounded stealth combat with Adaptive Cover, a genre-reinventing cover and traversal system. Wishlist our debut project, Crossfire, now: crossfire.start.page
For the last 2.5 years, I've been working on Crossfire with the unbelievably gifted folks at @thatsnomoon.com. Very excited for you to meet our single-player story's unlikely allies, Layla Qassem and Delroy Cross. Trailer: youtu.be/mt400rdovIg

I'm craving a New Good Snowboarding game pretty bad lately. We've kinda hit the clock on a new one, right? Last one I played was Shredders a couple years ago, had a lot of promise but felt a little rough around the edges
Been kind of hitting a motivation wall with personal work when it comes to 3D art, so I've instead pivoted to creating things in visual mediums I've literally never practiced before, without caring about achieving anything at all and just having fun. Turns out having fun is a lot more enjoyable!!!

I know all the grass touching I'm doing is working, because every other day I log on this website and I see a half-dozen cryptic posts saying something to the effect of like 'Not retweeting but this whole discourse is problematic' and I genuinely don't know what the damn fuck you're all referring to
Finished this project a year ago, since then I moved to Paris, now live in a Haussmann building, and every day I take ref pictures that would have been extremely useful to actually apply to this project. 😅
Excited to show you my latest personal project, my Haussmann Architectural Study! Been working on this project when I have spare time here and there. Super stoked to have been able to finish it! www.artstation.com/artwork/eR98dP #GameArt #UnrealEngine
"Dev costs have skyrocketed." What does that actually mean? By how much? Since when? The bigger the scope, the higher the rise: x2.5 for solodevs, x3 for AAA in 10 years ($100M ➡️ $300M). @hushcrasher.bsky.social full analysis: newsletter.hushcrasher.com/p/did-games-...
Did games really get more costly to make?
By how much, since when, and for whom? We have the receipts.
