Little bit of old little bit of new at last nights cEDH meetup. Revived Slicer with some new cards and brought my Superior Spider-Man deck as well. Both decks performed great! Still feeling reluctant to invest time in cEDH tourneys with Rhystic legal and the yap for draws meta, but meetup v fun

Bluesky overindexes on humorless scolds and people doing identity formation by arguing with something you didn't say but that doesn't make it an echo chamber; it means the place has an institutional culture, and I much prefer that culture to fending off Nazis with a block button that doesn't work

Formats get “solved” when cards like Cori Steel + Vivi aren’t reasonably beatable but what does this change accomplish? That players with less time to practice submit decks that crash into the brick wall? That enfranchised players know the format is 💩 but can’t prove it? I don’t get it.

Like, I know they think there is this big problem with data access and metagames getting solved quickly, but like, look at the tremendous churn we have in current Standard. Large competitive events with full data create amazing formats!

Although Kai Budde was initially a hero of mine during his great run of PT wins, he then became a friend and teammate for many years. He is one of the best to ever pick up a card, but I’m so blessed that the first thing I think of when I hear his name is his smile.

Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step. 1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish. 2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.
