Having the latest OLED tech PC monitor is amazing to have for gaming, but have to care for it like it's made of glass. Have to unplug it to clean it so it doesn't retain heat which can fuck up the screen when cleaning it. Hopefully tech gets there they don't have to be treated as if made of glass.

I don't engage much on this platform other than having notifications on for some people whose work I like to keep up with, but of all the weeks to avoid being on here, this has been the week.

Saying "told you so" about someone who is accused of SA is the grossest way to try and score a point as being on the right side about someone who has had a checkered past.

This was the best part about the last year of Bungie, through multiple layoff cycles it was a daily battle between survivor’s guilt and waiting for the other shoe to drop I would reiterate people will not make a good video game under these conditions but that assumes any of these ghouls care

I want to re-emphasize one part of this Xbox story: Half of the 3,200 cuts are happening today and half are happening in the next 12 months. In other words, even people who survived today's layoffs will have to spend the coming year wondering if they're going to be next.

Announcing massive layoffs and a goal to reach one billion users in the same memo is just the ultimate bad vibes move. Earnest or not, no one sees that prospect as an exciting challenge to overcome. It looks like you’re being prepped for some Amazon-style piss in a bottle workloads.

Microsoft engineered this so that it looked the least bad optically while at the same time still committing a slaughter, all so that Satya Nadella can still dick around with more useless AI horseshit. Fuck him and fuck Microsoft.

There's a reason why Arkane is a separate line both here and in the Xbox statement when compared to other studios French labor law requires a consultation process with the studio’s works council to ensure there is actual justification for the move and that all alternatives have been exhausted first

BREAKING: Xbox will cut 3,200 jobs as part of a major reorganization, and divest from five studios: - Compulsion and Double Fine will go indie - Ninja Theory and Undead Labs will be sold - Arkane to enter consultation process Here's the full story: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

The iPhone price going up is going to be the thing that makes normal people catch up to the RAM crisis the same way power bills were for data centers. You can avoid games, you can’t avoid phones.

Found that an actual nazi works at my job. Don't know who he is. Anyone wants to try finding out who it is by running the plates, go right ahead.

You don't have to agree with Valve as a de-facto monopoly that does many many questionable things with content moderation to appreciate making an open living room platform running Linux viable. I disagree with many of their decisions but their hardware is ideologically aligned with my beliefs.

Microsoft buying these studios that make wonderful prestige titles always felt off because Xbox lacks a sense of identity that lasts longer than 3 fiscal years. This contradiction was made even worse by their unwillingness to respond to the BDS Boycott in even a perfunctory way.

1/3 of the game industry has lost their job in the last two years. Ubisoft closed two more studios today. Everyone is out of work. To that end I'm starting a new bundle to benefit a layoffs hardship fund. Game devs: please consider submitting your PAID games to the bundle, which will launch in July.

Game industry hardship fund

A game jam from 2026-06-10 to 2026-06-24 hosted by Necrosoft Games. PREMISE: The game industry has a problem. Too many people are out of work (reports say 33% of the industry lost their jobs in the la...
