On 9/11 I was in NZ and doing work experience on an emu/blueberry farm and had to take a break from watching the news coverage to gather eggs from the emu paddock and one of the emus had a right go at me. And then I went back inside and watched the second tower fall.

Watched "Sorry, Baby" and wish I felt the same as what seems to be a consensus very positive response. To me it felt cold, distant, artificial..I didn't believe the character interactions and relationships, the dialogue, or the strange empty world they occupied. Kept me at arms length.

We've been watching the Interview With The Vampire show and I've been mostly lukewarm throughout, with some clear highlights and plenty that didn't work for me at all. But the final episode (of season 2) was exceptional, and reframed so much of what came before. Great stuff.
