ok so i read Spider-Man: Brand New Day, or at least i read that trade they recently released supposedly collecting it and... i've mostly come away very confused. so i've never entirely read this arc as i don't read very much post-One More Day Spider-Man comics for... obvious reasons but i am (1/9)

so i stumbled upon this manga called X-Day at the secondhand bookstore and seeing that it was a 2-volume thing, found the second online so i could read the whole story. the manga itself is kinda whatever. vibey angsty messy people stuff about 4 people who meet in a school chatroom. however...
been quote posting this too many times so lightning round thread now: DC Next Level Batwoman (1-5) and The Deadman (1,2) are both pretty interesting so far. Batwoman finished its first arc so i'm interested to see where it goes next. Deadman is just weird supernatural stuff I'm prone to liking.

Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
so i don't remember why exactly I put Tigress Island on my pull list. maybe it was just that i could get nakey variant covers for it idk regardless, an ensemble cast of women surviving on an island some weird rich asshole kidnapped them onto should be like interesting? this was not somehow. like-

monthly mail comic shipment came today and so i'm back at this a bit i absolutely adore everything they have been doing with Moon Knight since 2021. The art is all yummy, the story is so satisfying, i love all the characters the characters who show up, it's just great. the supernatural parts of-

And to cap off my reading for the night, Justice League: Dream Girls is basically about two trans women fighting a weird chaser guy (or at least the villain gives off weird chaser vibes to me) and i'm kinda all here for that. it was a pretty fun read, even if its reference to ongoing DC narrative-

oh my god, Romeo & Juliet and Godzilla is so fucking charming i'm actually pretty familiar with the source material for this one and it's very much a comic adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, complete with dialog directly from the play (sometimes adapted to the context of what's going on) but

[About Universal Monsters: The Phantom of the Opera (#1-4)] while i've seen the musical a couple times (both staged and the movie), i'm not really that knowledgeable of the source material, so i have no idea how this fairs as an adaptation of whatever. it was a nice read regardless though, however,

[about Ultimate Endgame #5 + Ultimate Universe Finale] endings are hard to make completely satisfying but i think i'm mostly satisfied with how this all ended. Not sure if i'm completely satisfied but I think the stories I read got wrapped up pretty alright here (with hooks for future ones obvs)

first up [about Marvel Swimsuit Special (2026) + Marvel Zero (2026) + It's Symbie #1] it's so frustrating that writers definitely still understand who Peter Parker is as a character and can write him in a satisfying way but editorial seem to just refuse to let him have satisfying stories anymore.
