Thanks to @mbolden.bsky.social for moderating a fun discussion at #ISOJ25 today. My thesis: Journalists need to understand who feels neglected or misrepresented by their journalism AND who has trouble *hearing* their journalism because it seems to come from an unrelatable or unuseful place.

Just a quick reminder that most of the country doesn't know who Matt Gaetz is. If you're surrounded by people who are refreshing their feeds hoping for updates on Trump's cabinet picks, you're unusual. And if you're creating journalism with those folks in mind, you're leaving others out.
