Great line by student announcers doing play by play of Macalester vs. Luther game in NCAA D-lll baseball tournament. Macalester up 7-1 in fourth with Scots scoring 1,1,2,3 by inning so far. "Macalester has a Fibonacci Sequence on the scoreboard." Hoping for 5 in the 5th. @sickoscommittee.org

The king is VERY confident and loud and wants to show you all the things he can do with his books. But he doesn’t know that books are for reading. Good thing his friends are there to help. Is it didactic? A bit. But it’s also funny, a blast to read aloud, and pretty relevant to the moment. #kidlit

Absolutely delighted to share that Andrea Offermann's author-illustrator debut (!) will be coming out next year with Ann Kelley at Random House Studio. Wilhelm Werner's story reads like an edge-of-your-seat thriller, but it's all true and meticulously researched by Andrea. Congrats, Andrea!!!

Ann Kelley at Random House Studio has bought, in a preempt, Andrea Offermann's How Wilhelm Werner Became a Thief!, a nonfiction graphic chapter book about a museum caretaker who secretly hid banned paintings by a Jewish artist to protect them from destruction during the Nazi regime. Publication is scheduled for fall 2027; Sean McCarthy at Sean McCarthy Literary Agency sold world English rights.

When you're creating, you're not meant to get it right on the first try. Revision is magic. That's when you stumble upon an idea that's infinitely better than you started with. When you discover connections you didn't even know were there. When you find that absolutely essential line is irrelevant.

It's not very often that I get to announce a new client *and* a new deal, but @artbyjoycho.bsky.social is truly one of a kind! I was instantly charmed by Hana as soon as I saw her, and am grateful that Sally Morgridge at Holiday House felt the same way. Spring 2029 can't come soon enough!
