Academics with comfortable jobs, tenured, a billionaire, the people who hunted Arday across Twitter made my skin crawl. The gleeful, violent, vicious joy they displayed. The "jokes" The dismissal of the suggestion that there could be consequences.
Horrific. So many gleeful ghouls, ranging from far right to liberal, who jumped on this issue to vent their spleen over everything they think they’re entitled to if only they didn’t have to share with people they, deep down or shallowly, deem unworthy. A murder by social media witch hunt.

But plenty of academics were very happy to continue in his comments and elsewhere. Hounding someone to death is unlikely to weigh much on the minds or hearts of these people.
its worth asking whether this ending would have happened without the endless, gleeful, hunting and dismantling of Arday's choices on Twitter, where he represented all the sins of DEI made flesh for a range of assorted disgruntled academics who once had to go to a training and hated it

We're seeing a massive institutional deportation and state violence apparatus being built and it honestly feels like people dont grasp the sheer scale of it and what already is in place. For every horrific video of masked feds kidnapping people there are so many people pushing paper to help.

Every woman I know with advanced degrees has dated this guy/met this guy at a party and he has implied how ignorant/stupid she actually was because she didn't recite the History of the Peloponnesian War from memory. And then he's been blocked/avoided by every one of those women.
