Quite incredible to experience how cool and pleasant it was in the forest today, in sharp contrast to the extreme heat beating down outside. Streams still flowing, soils still moist. Healthy natural ecosystems are our primary bulwark against climate breakdown.

Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

Having a language learning day today. Watched some videos in German (my level: A1 going into A2) and noted some new words. Did a bit of writing in French (B2ish - but I have been a bit lazy with output) to identify gaps, and also did a bit of writing in Spanish (B2-C1). #langsky
