The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

We want to move Ruby forward
On September 9, without warning, Ruby Central kicked out the maintainers who have cared for Bundler and RubyGems for over a decade. Ruby Central made these changes against the established project poli...

AWS-East is down and many online services are struggling. The card payment service of the café I was in stopped working as well. And here in Spain this is a massive issue, as many people are not carrying any cash anymore. I bet cash-loving Germany won't even notice. 😄
By now it sounds to me like the best solution for the #Ruby community would be to dissolve @rubycentral.org and redirect the funds used to maintain the rubygems.org service to another organization not involving the RC members.

Ruby Central said some really concerning things today. I don’t think they’re representing the situation accurately. andre.arko.net/2025/10/09/t...
Having met with both sides on the current RubyCentral/RubyGems situation, here's my take: - RubyCentral have managed this exceptionally poorly in many ways including removing literally the most active member of the RubyGems organisation by mistake who has declined to return
The #BlueSky app logged me out many weeks ago and... I neither logged in for weeks, nor did I miss it. I didn't even use any other social media in that time... is it still alive? Anyhow, visiting #Euruko2025 the next days, so I need to be on the socials.
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend @brightonruby.com 😢 If anyone is interested in my ticket, please contact me via DM. #BrightonRuby #Ruby #Rails #Brighton #conference
Why is it so hard for people to realize they are voting against their own interests? A lot of (social) media consumed in EUrope is strongly influenced by Russia or (more recently) US-based actors which are working on destroying the EU, to rid themselves of this large force of peace and regulation.
Why Poland, why? 🇵🇱😢 (Yeah, I know, because Russian-controlled disinformation campaigns erode trust in anything and lead to people believing the strong (lying) men... but still: WTF?!)
Meanwhile #FCSP fans still stand strong with Isreal no-matter-what and question why their captain dares to criticize the war in Gaza and shows solidarity with Palestinians.
Setting aside post-hoc legal definitions, there could not be a clearer instance of genocide. The closest historical parallel is the German colonial genocide in which Herero & Nama people who survived mass killing were forced into the desert to starve, 1904-08. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

A world historical crime, taking place in full view, with the perpetrators so convinced of their impunity that they can brag about genocidal intent, and it’s hard not to agree with their calculation that no one will stop them and no one will be held accountable

@adrianthedev.com Hey, I just read about github.com/avo-hq/marks... and am wondering: in which format does it store the file contents, in pure markdown? And does it support syntax highlighting, or would this be easy to customize with a gem like rouge?

While POTUS has not the power to repeal these laws, he is working hard on stripping every non-white person from their rights. It's time for the divided states to unite and fight against this shift back into apartheid. And for the EU to prepare for boycotting the US.
My god. He’s gone after the Civil Rights Act!!!! www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...
Looks like the US gov decide security vulnerabilities would be more useful to them when developers won't fix them so fast. So they cut funding for the CVE program and will take the server down today?!?
Does this mean we get to quit releasing CVEs? 🙃 infosec.exchange/@briankrebs/...
1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but 2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but 3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So 4. Now the LLM code points to malware.
LLMs hallucinating nonexistent software packages with plausible names leads to a new malware vulnerability: "slopsquatting."
