Seriously it’s like there is a giant chunk of tech people who don’t understand that when you’ve learned how to write, you feel proud, you look forward to doing more of it, you cheerfully neglect your other work just so you can write more

What made pre-modern artists great? The fact that they didn't have nonstop music to vibe out to while they painted and sculpted. They probably didn't feel like doing the work ALL the time, but pulled their druthers together enough times to get it done. Over and over and over. Mad respect.

Being self employed is awesome until you cant concentrate for a whole day and get zero work done. And then get mess up your whole week's workflow. Im normally so good at this but today my mind is fluttering around like a drunk butterfly! Uuuuugh

Teaching my neighbor how our composting tumblers work & inviting her to contribute when she has scraps. This morning she rushed out to give me a bag of old lettuce, apologizing that it already started to brown and so shocked/relieved when I said that decomposing is what its all about. I love this.

I've been told it's an ornamental tree. "It does nothing for the environment." But every day, dozens of sparrows wake up within the thickest part, shaking the greenery in the face of the breeze. This useless tree is home. There is so much bird shit under it.

Winter wouldn't seem to budge. Heavy, cold, dark. Forever. But against my every willingness to hope, the geese fly north. The hay is picked for nests. The buds that clung to the branches are loosening. Thank the gods for the seasons' timely stubbornness. Never let me stay dormant for too long.

I make a lot of assumptions when climate activists say they use chatgpt for anything. Do people not believe that data centers are bleeding towns of water and electricity? Is it just that they dont want to think about it even though they've heard it's bad? Its too convenient to deny? What is it?
