So I'd like to put together another Hellfire, no set date yet. (It will be a Sunday or Saturday) The theme this time ... Is REVENGE!! If you have ever lost an exhibition set OR had someone come from losers to beat you in grand finals with the reset .. Sign up here! forms.gle/8eVdJfFXRvo5...

By the way, I'm calling the new moves "Star Skills" because god knows that they're going to give it some unnecessarily long name that ends up being a mouthful like Luminous Skill.

Here's my writeup on the new #MeltyBlood Twi-Lumina gameplay teaser!! Lots of new system mechanics and rebalancings. I think this is an interesting direction even if it's blatantly SF6 inspired, and a lot healthier than Moon Gauge stuff.

Okay so there's the new meter gauge
It seems to basically be a burnout gauge that replaces the moon gauge. You want yours to be lower. Looks like when capped the gauge breaks and you can't seem to spend more until it's back empty again. Everyone starts with 9, when you lose a round MAX is enabled and you get two extra stars. Looks like it either has its own button assigned or is just a macro, they just say it's on L1 by default.

Goes up when
Being hit by certain attacks, like EX Moves give one, Arc Drives give two
You spend it on the new moon skill replacements
Blocking certain attacks immediately give one
Blocking in general seems to slowly fill it up. Generally half portions are most noticeable but it can be pretty subtle
By one when getting hit by Shield BC

Goes down
During a combo you can remove up to four, signified by the symbol on the combo counter.
By one when landing Shield BC followup.
By one when landing an EX move
By two when landing an Arc Drive. None if blocked.
EX Shield removes one
Heat removes "half" a portion immediately, and slowly removes one, seems like half a guage per 25%?

New Moon Skill things cost meter as well, seems like 10% minimum, maybe more, on top of additional lumina gauge. They seem really good.

Max Mode seems to occur when players lose a round, seems to function similarly to C Moon Max Mode but with a cooldown. You auto enter max when at 200 bar while the cooldown is done. Looks like arc drives leave you with 200 meter as well. Looks like ex moves cost SUBSTANTIALLY less in MAX mode, but you can also lose max mode meter by getting hit.

Looks like they added a new modern control scheme too, called "Act", standard will be "Duel". Act gives you bbtag dashing, and you have smart steer-esque auto combos based on the button you hit.
kinda fire ngl

So far every "wall" I've hit in IIDX was pretty easily surpassed with a change in technique and a little bit more focus/elbow grease. It just almost immediately turns into what feels like a victory lap, in a sense. Conquering standard, being able to play any song at that difficulty with confidence.

"A concentration camp, in its most basic definition, is a place where a targeted civilian population, not necessarily accused of a crime, is detained and at least some of their basic rights are suspended," writes @jwashing.bsky.social. "That’s precisely what’s happening in the United States today."

Don’t call them ICE detention centers. Call them camps | John Washington

I’ve spent a decade reporting on immigration enforcement. The word ‘camp’ best captures the political function of these facilities
