instagram keeps showing me this account that is just clips from Max Payne but with the saturation turned all the way up
Snarms... snarms... I've just put this one up in my patreon
every morning it's just @amarquez.bsky.social and me saying stuff like wala ya masa and da wiallo kalai to each other
so stoked to have hosted @ryakomusic.bsky.social on the show! my favourite bit is at the end where she talks about forging your own path and listening to your inner voice as an artist <3
EPISODE 46 IS LIVE @ryakomusic.bsky.social joins @marinahascoffee.bsky.social to talk about her sources of inspiration, how her experience as a music producer helps her with sound design, and what it’s like working on your first video game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MYS...
messing with crt effects using the retrotink 4k, custom shadowmask, 960x540 upscaled to 3840x2160 (4x per axis)
Always another famous artist saying this Bowie’s “never play to the gallery” the most important advice for an artist
Shigeru Miyamoto says the games that resonate most with players all around the world aren’t those deliberately designed for global appeal, but those based on a developer’s personal interests. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/miyamot...
I still watch 1 starcraft match every morning and I watch the Korean tournament that happens twice a year (ASL) it’s the only game stuff I watch, I never watch streams of anything. Cant miss my starcraft though 👴🏻
what's everyone else's fab examples of once massively popular and influential landmark titles in especially western games from back in the day that have just been forgotten and abandoned completely now. mine is black and white
very interesting choice to shoot the Odyssey in IMAX but make everything so small Tiny cave, small boat, cramped pañace, city alleys, single tent, one-room shack, small beach, 20 soldiers in a battle, etc felt like watching a play, in the best way
i am feeling very lucky to be working with a team that is so talented they have been surprising me everyday with cool new things, ATS is really good now❗
AI is the ultimate brainrot getting hooked on the intermittent reinforcement machine that rewards you with the dopamine of feeling successful if i press the button enough times, i will be a good artist / i will work faster / i will program better
there’s this somewhat popular game programmer here that has gone from AI hater to full AI psychosis it has been interesting to see because it looks so similar to other addictions it really is the slot machine gambling aspect of its output that hooks people
there's a NSTW x Filcher bundle! Filcher is such a good Thief-like store.steampowered.com/bundle/77600...

i think another really hard part of making a game in this style is balancing gamepad vs mouse/keyboard have to balance the aiming and shooting, the enemy behavior, and even the feel of WASD vs stick
some people say the hardest part of gamedev is the last 10%, some say console cert, some say feature creep, etc but for me, the hardest part by far is when I have decided what my next game will be, and it feels like the best idea in the world that you can't make because you are busy
Halfway done with some weird new UI for the MIDI sequencer
dev self-care tip: look up pre-release screenshots of your favorite games can you guess the 4th one?
the only way to become a good artist is by first being a bad one. we're discouraged as adults to pick up something new, to be a beginner again, to be bad at something again. but art, like anything else, is a skill. the path to mastery? putting in focused, consistent effort over time
i got into soulslikes from playing bloodborne psx 🤓
