Check out this fantastic work, which we were happy to contribute to, by the amazing Gokhman and Inoue labs and colleagues. Congrats David and all involved! 🔥🔥🔥

Humans are remarkably prone to degenerative skeletal diseases. Other apes, much less so, even in old age. In our new paper in @nature.com , we map the genetic changes that shaped our skeleton and uncover a major clue to why it is so vulnerable to degeneration.🧵👇 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Our lab took part in a joint course on scientific illustrations between ELSC and Bezalel. The students (Aderet, Nika, Anja, Snir & Alice) were amazing! Now our wall is decorated with their creativity (Plus Walaa’s farewell present sign & Special Tnxxx to Avital!)

This new method, BLISS, to detect single molecule fluorescent bursts revealed the “hyperdynamic” fraction of HP1a we previously observed in pluripotent stem cells. Check it out👇🔬🔥

www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... Single-molecule fluorescence bursts of FP-tagged proteins are achieved in live cells using a new method, BLISS, exposing a rare subpopulation of heterochromatin protein 1alpha dense clusters in undifferentiated embryonic stem cells.

Are PolyQ Inclusion Bodies detrimental or protective in Huntington’s Disease? The amazing Walaa Oweis in my lab shows they are protective in human iPSC-derived neurons, confirming Finkbeiner’s observation in rodents. She further found that ATF3 is required for their formation. 🔥🔥🔥 rdcu.be/fbjil
