Finished the mini-series Sai and I really recommend it. An ice-cold slow-burn serial killer thriller about how sometimes, bad luck just falls out of the sky and lands on your head, in this case personified by a deeply unsettling man played by Teruyuki Kagawa. Kiyoshi Kurosawa comparisons are apt.

The sludge is dripping down almost all of its body, and pouring straight into one of the mouths as the mouth sputters. A few sludge drips are flowing straight up from the horse's body, against gravity. The bottom portion of the canvas is white and light grey despite there being no apparent light source. Static noise overlays the solid surface of the pit itself.

This last day of #Invertefest: the silkworm moth, a controversial species. Breeding has left them defenseless and dependent on humans. If not intended for breeding, they are killed in the cocoon. To avoid these issues, some silk growers harvest cocoons of wild moths after they emerge. #kdk1200

Unable to fly because they lack mouths, and unable to fly because their wings are so heavy heavy, they are defenseless and completely dependent on humans. This has created controversy, and some have turned to Ahimsa silk, harvested from cocoons after wild moths have emerged. Ahimsa is the idea of avoiding harm to any living being.

Despite their differences, these lovelies are both Treehoppers. They mimic different things bc of differences in their environs. What interests us is the symbiosis between Hemikyptha and ants. The former secretes "honeydew;" ants feed on it and protect their food source. #Invertefest #kdk1200

For day 3 of #Invertefest, Kit offers Lopidea major. Evolution led to an unusual, devilish defense: rather than being inherent toxic, it stores the toxins of the plants it consumes. Mountain laurel contains a very nasty poison, no doubt the choice of many a murderer. #kdk1200 #horror
