A great MCB meeting last w/e in Derby. Our challenge was to brew a clone of Jaipur. We slipped in the real thing as an entry too...good job the real @thornbridge.bsky.social Jaipur won🤣 Congrats to Aaron who gets to brew the real thing with Thornbridge as his beer scoring 41 won the member's comp
Congratulations to Aaron Guffick, winner of the Midlands Craft Brewers competition to brew a beer as close to Jaipur as possible 🍻 With a score of 41/50, Aaron’s homebrew came remarkably close to the real thing👏
A cracking MCB meeting at the Tamworth Tap today talking Rye beers. Plenty of members beers for tasting too. You can always tell a good pub when punters are queueing out the front door!
Long day yesterday, but a good day. My attempt at an homage to @kernelbrewery.bsky.social Export India Porter hopped with Columbus and Centennial hops entered as an American Porter in yesterday's UK National Homebrew comp in Bristol, despite being slightly out of style did pretty well ☺️ #homebrew
After #115 brews, time for a Roggenbier brew today for next month's @midscraftbrew.bsky.social meeting where we'll be looking at rye beers. #homebrew #homebrewing

An enjoyable evening listening to @tabamatu.bsky.social about his journey from home brewing to setting up @elusivebrewing.com at the Burton Bridge Inn. His book with Jamil Zainasheff , The Modern Homebrewer is recommended reading. It's full of up to date advice on brewing quality beers at home.
