The best part about 1917 is SD leaders told women not to turn out for International Women's Day protests in March because it was a lib-coded distraction and they wanted to save their juice for May Day. Instead the women turned out anyway and those protests literally sparked the revolution

France 1789 and Russia February 1917 were kicked off women related events. The Women's March on Versailles, and the (relatively) warm International Women's Day in 1917. (Really greatful for @mikeduncan.bsky.social for pointing this out during his Russia season of REVOLUTIONS)

All brought to you by the same group that in a previous episode staged a riot inside the national capital to disrupt and prevent the legal transfer of power to their political rivals after losing an election

I know it’s easy to get inured to this stuff but imagine a podcast ep where @mikeduncan.bsky.social is telling you about this happening in some other country at the same time that a crisis in parliament has shut down the national budget.

As a millennial dad, I have never felt more seen by a podcast episode than this conversation hosted by @weeklyshowpod Jon Stewart with Tony Gilroy (creator of Andor) and @mikeduncan.bsky.social, the great history podcaster whose work I’ve devoured for over a decade podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
