My superpower this morning: turning an omelette into scrambled eggs.

Out for a (humid) 30mi bike ride today. Stopped at a kid’s lemonade stand — because you always stop for a kid’s lemonade stand and you always overpay. He was out of lemonade, but still had lemons. Lemon basil pasta for dinner it is.
Sitting in a farmer’s field. Listening to live music. Drinking local wine.
Because I follow @dean.bsky.social (and you should, too), I learned that today is Herman Melville's birthday. And this post shared by @monkchips.com is really the only appropriate gift to the author. The title of his most famous story is just a coincidence. bsky.app/profile/jord...
The only taxidermied blue whale in the world, 1865 CE, now housed at the Natural History Museum in Sweden. The public was allowed to enter the whale up until a couple was found having sex inside it. Now the whale’s jaws are opened only for special occasions, such as Swedish election days.
Stuck in traffic next to a big construction vehicle and the dude driving it is rocking out to “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion on full blast. He looks like he’s having a great Wednesday morning. Enjoy life good sir.
Saw an early screening of "One Night Only" last night. It's like "The Purge" but opposite. Almost unbelievable premise that quickly fades into a com-rom (emphasis on the com). Great casting and cameos. Add it to your must-go-see list.
A quartet of frames from my new everyday walk around camera (24mm Zeiss on a Sony a6700). The man standing behind bars in the third frame is staring at a sign at an immigrant vigil that reads “Welcome to the U.S.”
Why is the union movement so weak and impotent 🤔 Maybe because of thinking and actions like this?
Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Angela Ferrito, explaining her union's endorsement of #PA01 GOP Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, said he’s become the kind of Republican who will “sometimes almost put their neck out.” The union's own public scorecard shows Fitz has aligned w/ its priorities only about 46% of the time.
Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick gets an 'F' (46%) on the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO's own scorecard. That earned him the union's endorsement. Should they set the bar a little higher, maybe? What do you think #BucksCounty #Pennsylvania #PA01?

The Man Behind Bristol Township School District’s Free Meals - Bucks County Beacon
“It’s definitely provided equality across the district. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you are enrolled here you don’t have to pay for a meal,” said BTSD Food Service Director Brandon Lang.

It’s just amazing to me that six Seattle City Councilmembers - and a few nonprofits - actually thought it was a good idea to oppose universal free school meals in the upcoming school year. Wildly out of touch. Not @mayor.seattle.gov. She had it right all along. The public agreed.
This is going to -- and 100% should -- show up on every restaurant and diner breakfast menu. Suck it, plain old boring avocado toast.
You‘ve probably had French Toast, but my mum used to make a Bangladeshi version - bread fried with egg mixed with chopped onion, green chill, fresh coriander and a good pinch of salt:
Saw South Pacific at Bucks County Playhouse last night. Its DNA is deeply rooted in Doylestown: Oscar Hammerstein wrote much of the musical at Highland Farm. It's based on hometown native James Michener's Pulitzer-winning novel. And, as a bonus, my daughter's high school friend was in the ensemble!
High school track teammate went on to university and ran a 4:00 minute mile. This was back in the late ‘80s. He was, as he put it, average.
great story about real fast guys www.wired.com/story/teenag...
Hate on Adobe or AI all you want, but in this case I think we can all agree they get a pass.
Spain officially edited Trump out of the celebration photo. How you know you're popular all over the world. The fascist vanishes. If only he would for real.
"Road rage" is what they call murder when a car is involved. It waters down the reality of the violence and the crime. When someone murders a fellow human with a gun, it's rarely called anything other than what it is: murder.
Well the NY Post is flat-out calling it road rage but I see no reference to that in any of the law enforcement statements
Kinda ironic tie dye covering the pitch given how much hate the host country’s admin has for the rest of the world.
when we said “bring back shame” this is exactly what we meant none of these assholes should be allowed to buy coffee in peace
Watching ICE agents literally run away from a Mount Laurel Starbucks without their coffee because the neighborhood completely rejected them is pure gold. South Jersey will make you unwelcome every single time you show your faces.
This is why I won’t read your Substack, people.
And as a commenter welcomes, guess who just welcomed Andrew Tate onboard? Yep, Substack.
I ran a 4:36 in high school. Kerr would have lapped me.
Josh Kerr smashes the mile WR by half a second. Only the 2nd Brit to hold an outdoor WR (Jonathan Edwards triple jump the other one).
Mamdani left soccer field lights on all night…..the lights usually go off at 10pm. They set a camera up and guess what they saw?? Residents playing soccer with their friends ALL NIGHT. One man said how much he loved it because his friends work late and can’t get to the field before 10pm.

THREAD: Akamai’s cloud leaders have laid out a compelling case for why a cloud built for raw power is no longer enough in a world that runs on proximity. My quick summary of their points, plus a provocative thesis from IDC's Dave McCarthy that calls into question how we define hyperscale. /1
