92% of terror arrests in Britain are now for alleged Palestine Action supporters The cohort has an average age of 59 and an even gender split between men and women, but outside of Palestine Action-related arrests, the vast majority of terror suspects are male with an average age of 31

Is “pragmatic” the new, “grown up” word? Andy, there’s nothing “pragmatic” about drilling for more oil & gas - to even consider it with the planet literally on fire is total madness. How many times must we say it will do nothing for energy bills or security? It would be an act of utter recklessness

PM tells reporters the government cannot ignore the energy resource ‘when people are struggling’

Instead of using a photo of the current conflagrations caused by climate breakdown, the Telegraph uses a pic of a wind turbine burning ... in February 2025. Because that's the important thing: 17 months ago a turbine ignited. Caption: "It’s time to cease building wind turbines". #FossilFuelStooges

I'm not qualified to judge whether such people are psychopaths. All I can say is that they behave as if they are. From today's Telegraph.

Britain can’t stop climate change. Scrap net zero and embrace Mediterranean life

We’ve lost the war against global warming so let’s learn to handle hotter weather

I have never been shown one advantage of using AI to write or research. Every single example of someone saying how they find it helpful is accompanied with "But make sure you check it because you can't trust it". Enshittifying your writing and research should not be an aim.

Another one bites the dust. Just *do the work* you lazy poseurs. You want all the laurels of scholarship and publication without the labour.

It’s a Fair Question….. “Why is it that it takes 900 years and 5000 impact studies to build high speed rail but a 5 minute city council meeting is all it takes to approve a massive data center?”

The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.

When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.

The Times: Net zero risks blackouts. Below a photo of French wildfires.

"Jewish groups and Israel’s embassy have lobbied the party to water down the draft text..." So a foreign power and their Australian lobbyists interfere in party politics. And MSM reports this as if perfectly normal. They'd go beserk if it was China, Russia, or even the US. #hypocrisy #auspol 1/2

Any news report that starts “OpenAI says…” or claims “an AI” (sic) has “broken containment” or “gone rogue” is no longer doing journalism, but PR for the #AI industry. #OpenAI used their product to hack a third-party and failed to implement adequate safeguards. That’s it. That’s the story. #AIHype

The IPCC is pretty clear that there has to be no new oil and gas extraction to remain within safe limits. And yet every country is finding an excuse for why it should be the one to extract that little bit more. The el nino next year may give us a glimpse of what that future will look like
