I love how the previous generations of storyboard artists were allowed to draw silly cartoon characters on flat wobbly backgrounds, but now we have to learn how to draw the most realistic anime proportions and perspective ever to even be considered for a job
Literally why I'm just starting my own small business revolving around cutesy animals that lean into anime via the expressions & linework but ultimately has like, Steven Universe & Disney rooted in it lol That 2000s/2010s 6-11 audience style just isn't getting made any more by the big companies

chira 🎋@artofchira.bsky.social · 10mo agoin a session with my therapist, she was commenting how she can't draw a stick figure -- then recalled a time when she could envision exactly what she wanted and it came out easily on the canvas. and she had no idea how she did it. I was like, yeah, the flow state. you know, like athletes and gamers

when you don't realize you ordered something wrong until you're checking the proofs a week later and realize something is way bigger than the others.. LOL dang it
had to work at the cafe an extra day today because we had a big visit from corporate or something, it was so stressful LOL and of course it was busy the second the people came to visit LOL thankfully the cafe is solid and we prepped a lot before hand
anyone know the studio for the new avatar show?? i'm curious who's working on it.. it's giving a chinese studio like i get the legend of hei vibe from the animation but i could be completely wrong LOL

FINALLy prepped the order for PMC so i'll be less anxious for the convention.. hopefully everything ships well and i can sell well at the con next month.. now i'll focus on comms and my other projects!
