Some lessons I've learned in life really just needed time. No amount of words or caution would have worked, the only effective teacher was the time passed and the growth I had. It's hard to be patient with people sometimes but I try to remember that some things are learned and not taught

thinking of one point where Mara is just like "oh, Hayden, I could just kiss you." and Hayden is very quiet, and Mara is very quiet, and after a few heavy seconds they're like, "would you like that?" it's one option for the first kiss I think.

this sorta reminds me of this new thing of people being like "pole dancing is so awesome, i wish it weren't so sexualized!" when it is an art form developed by strippers. it's not bad for something's primary goal to be sexual arousal! it doesn't mean it's inherently less interesting/good!

there's sort of an impasse w/r/t female-oriented literary smut where it is pretty much just porn, but misogynists think that's disgusting and shameful because they hate women, and the women who read it think that it's so much more than porn because they hate porn.

I love the diversity in points of view between artists. But there's ONE belief I fundamentally disagree with. Some artists believe studying any kind of theory will taint their art. I can't stress this enough: Knowledge is never a bad thing. Education is a tool for liberation.
